Description

Poke, pronounced po-kay, is one of the favorite Hawaiian dishes. If you are a sushi lover like me, I’m sure that you’re gonna love this easy recipe. It is a raw seafood salad very simple to make. The only complicated part is finding sushi-grade fish (tuna, salmon, crab, oyster, octopus…). It makes an incredible first course or if you eat it with rice, it can even be a delicious main course.

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Preparing steamed rice: Put 1 tablespoon olive oil in a pan, add 1.5 cups of water. Bring to boil. Add 1 cup of washed rice. Half cover and cook until all the liquid has been absorbed over medium-low heat. Set aside.

Place wakame in a bowl and cover with boiling water. Wait for about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside. ( If you have sheets instead of cut wakame, you need to chop it after you drain.)

Toss salmon, wakame, sweet onion, green onion, sesame seeds, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and red pepper in a bowl.

  2. Prepare another bowl with crab with the same ingredients.

You can serve on its own or you can add your salad on top of the steamed rice.

    Bon Appetit!
