Description

Muhammara is a Middle Eastern roasted red pepper dip with lots of flavors and just enough spices. You can eat it as a dip or as a spread with bread or as a sauce for grilled meat or chicken.

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. 2

Place the red peppers on a baking pan and brush with 1 tablespoon olive oil.

  3. 3

Roast them in the oven for 30 minutes turning once.

  4. 4

Remove from the oven. Peel the peppers, remove the seeds and cut them into slices.

  5. 5

Combine red pepper slices and bread crumbs in the bowl of a food processor. Start blending.

  6. 6

Add the rest of the ingredients ( walnuts, garlic, pomegranate molasses, salt, cayenne pepper, sumac, olive oil and lemon juice) and pulse a few more times. A little texture is preferable instead of a puree.

  7. 7

Transfer your dip on a serving plate. Garnish with walnut pieces and fresh parsley.

  8. 8

Serve with bread, crackers or vegetables

    Bon Appetit!
